Purport -

O Ocean of Mercy ! O Supreme God! By Your grace and by my sincere and serious study I should have proficiency in the knowledge of 'Rgveda' and be able to expound and preach it. I should possess a mind abounding in the truthful thoughts and I should know in the real sense with the meanings of the 'Yajurveda'. In the same way I should always acquire vital energy with a profound knowledge of 'Samaveda' through meditation. With my hearing sense may I acquire the knowledge (thought and observation) of the 'Atharvaveda. O God! Bestow upon me the strenght of voice, the power of speech and psychological powers. O Omniscient Lord ! By Your grace I may attain all the aforesaid things. I should get physical strength and virtues of sound and firm health. O the supporter of the whole universe! By your divine influence may my 'Prana' [which is the cause of upper movement' and 'Apana' [Which is the cause of lower with ma movement] both of these should purify my all the senseorgans and elements [juice, blood etc.] of the body. They should bring freedom from all worldly desires, perfect. health, increased strength, nourishment of physical powers. My functional organs should be straight, not crooked, firm and cause of growth of our life-span. Having attained the 'Pränās' with perfect health, O God! By your grace I may be happy and prosperous forever and fully devoted to the observance of your commandments and devoted to your worship.
